When you went to school there was probably little to no education about computers and the internet going on. You had to wait until college to pursue that line of education or do it on your own time.

Now, classes that cover everything from setting up your own computer to setting up your own Facebook account are popping up all over schools, but the question remains: are they worth it? Is there really a need for children to understand the basics of computers and the internet so early in life or should they be learning about something more important?

The truth is that, whether you want to believe it or not, technology saturates our day-to-day lifestyle. You almost can’t go anywhere or do anything without having some rudimentary knowledge and basic understanding regarding computers and the internet.

Everything from reformatting a hard drive to understanding wild blue internet to social media, these are all crucial to a child’s future in our fast-paced, high tech world. Simply put, children don’t need to understand computers and the internet for convenience; they need to know these things in order to function.

Children need to know how these things work to better prepare themselves as our society continues to rocket forward into the future. Understanding computers and the internet isn’t just important, it’s crucial.

There are many different ways to learn something new, but one of the best ways to learn online is with the creation or viewing of a podcast or blog. Both have the ability to combine different media to give you a comprehensive learning experience.

Podcasts and blogs have the ability to combine explanations through printed words, capture parts of the explanation in pictures, and then give you a step by step tutorial through the use of video. Combining words, photos, and videos makes it easy for anyone to learn anything from taking a university marketing class online to learning how t to fix your sink at home.

Podcasts are generally a video blog that is used to broadcast to an audience. There are many podcasts that are news feeds that let you know what is going on around the world, but there are many more that are classroom discussions, both at the high school and university level and with the emergence of podcasts, it’s allowed online universities to flourish by adding podcasts of their lectures to the curriculum.

Blogs can be set up for nearly any topic. While there are many personal blogs, there are also thousands of blogs dedicated to higher learning whether that’s home care, molecular biology or anything in between. If you learn more effectively by reading, check out blogs. If you learn more effectively by listening, check out podcasts. With so many available, you’re bound to find blogs and podcasts on every topic imaginable.More info here: Tamara Walker Talks Podcasting for Parent Bloggers

Many people are not naturally adaptive to modern technology. Learning to use a cell phone or computer, for many, is a daunting challenge. Some people have difficulties learning on their own. Others prefer a formalized, structured environment. For those types of people, attending a basic computer education course in a school is the most effective way to learn.

Many high schools have education programs for adults living in the community. Most community colleges offer computer courses for beginners and even for experienced users. The courses are often held in the evenings to accommodate students who hold day jobs.Want more? Click here

Some schools even offer classes on weekends for people who are unable to attend day or evening classes.

If financial considerations are an issue, there are many organizations that will provide financial aid to prospective students eager to learn. Local and federal government sponsored programs exist to lend a helping hand. No matter what a person’s age or financial situation is, there are programs designed to help them acquire an education in computer basics. With the world rapidly evolving into a techno-centric global community, it is the wise individual who decides to learn computer basics, and does so by whatever means possible.

There are many things that a student can learn on the computer. Everything from foreign languages, math skills, learning, sciences and more. Learning about computers at a young age will help them in school, since many activities are performed on computers, and since a lot of the research they will need for their studies is also done on the computer. Cell phones are now even like small computers, along with tablets and pads that are easily carried around. By teaching your child to learn a computer at a young age, you are helping them develop a skill that will be widely used in the future.

Your child won’t have to fall behind in class learning to use a computer, and you won’t have to worry about helping them with their homework all of the time. Students can learn more on the Internet, participate in online classes, and also reach out to other students all around the globe. Pen pals are now cyber pals, and your child can have the entire world at their finger tips. Help you child prepare for their future in the best possible way by giving them a skill they will always need, and by teaching your child about computers. The information party rocks on: The Value of Learning About How We Learn

Learning how to use a computer at a young age is becoming more and more important because computers are used for nearly everything in your life. Starting with basic email, chat functions, and Faecbook is a great way to keep up with friends and family and many people have more contact with their family now that Facebook and email exist as opposed to calling or visiting them in person.

Other integral parts of our day like banking and grocery shopping also use computers.Get more information here. http://underthelobsterscope.wordpress.com/2011/10/25/the-new-reality/ You can receive your paycheck by direct deposit then immediately use it to pay your bills online, or have it withdrawn automatically which is also a computer function. When you check out at the grocery store and the clerk scans you items, or you do it yourself at the U-scan lane, the computer recognizes the bar code and assigns a price to the item giving you your total which you can then pay by debit card which is also a computer.

It’s hard to avoid computers in your daily life in the day and age so it’s important to learn how to use them and what the benefits are at an early age. The more you know about them, the more comfortable you can be with using them in your daily life. If the past 10 years are any indication, computers will become a greater part of our daily routine.
